Take time out with us here at the flower farm, and indulge in a passion, a hobby or simply time out for yourself. Whatever the reason to join us; we guarantee you will find it hard to leave! This is a wonderful gift experience for any passionate flower grower, gardener or flower lover. We will take you on a wonderful journey from Field to Vase, right here at the flower farm!

How your day will unfold

Morning - Horticultural insights

Starting with our horticultural team - you will have a farm tour and a talk/demo about our growing methods. This will be seasonal, and focussed on work that is currently being carried out to produce our flower school blooms. You will be shown the correct method for cutting blooms, and will have an opportunity to cut straight from the field, under direction. From our flower fields, we will then venture into the poly-tunnels; and get hands-on with an essential propagation task. You will have every opportunity to see how we operate, get involved, and ask all the burning questions about growing and propagation on our flower farm.

LUNCH

Afternoon - Eco Floristry insights

After a delicious lunch together, we progress to the floristry side of the Great British Flower School. Here in the floral studio, we will process your blooms together - using careful handling and conditioning methods, after which we will design and create a stunning floral vase arrangement, under the guidance of Ali Conway our floristry expert, which will be yours to take home.

Building your Creative Confidence

At the Great British Flower School, we take great pride in our no-jargon, easy tips and tricks, and simplified teaching methods. EVERYONE leaves happy and proud and confident. We’ll talk you through the whole process, start with a demonstration, but then leave you to experiment, have a go, get a feel for it yourself, and will be on hand for advice and re-assurance – without judgement!  We firmly believe that the best arrangements come from a freedom of expression, loosening the grip and the nerves and being free to create, rather than following any strict formula or recipe.  We can guide you with stem counts and proportions, but they are just a guide! 

No cello wrap, foam or plastics here! 

For every session, we are proud to demonstrate our no-foam, no plastics techniques.  We’ll explain and demonstrate how easy and free-ing it is to design without foam, and show you our tips and tricks for success.
